Tisha B’Av: A Time of Remembrance and Reflection
Tisha B’Av—the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av—is one of the most solemn days on the Jewish calendar. It marks the destruction of both the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem and recalls centuries of persecution, exile, and sorrow, including the expulsion from Spain in 1492.
Yet even in mourning, Tisha B’Av calls us to remember with purpose. As antisemitism continues to rise around the world, this day invites us to reflect on the past and recognize the urgency of shaping a future rooted in truth, courage, and community.
We invite you to join us at the Holocaust Garden of Hope for an evening of remembrance this Sunday, August 3, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Together, we will gather to read, reflect, and walk the Garden in solemn commemoration.
Please bring a comfortable chair. Free garage parking is available onsite. Let this evening be more than a memorial—let it be a stand for memory and meaning in our time.
